Mrs. Meadow’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cream:
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
scant tsp. cocoa
¼ cup cornstarch
1 Tbsp. vanilla (yes, this is a lot–it’s part of what makes the cookies so good!)
1 egg
Stir in:
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1¼ cup flour
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional–we left them out, not being sure if our neighbor likes nuts in his cookies)
Drop pieces the size of walnuts 2” apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake @350F 14 minutes. Don’t overbake! Allow to sit on cookie sheet briefly before removing.
